CWF League November 2016 – 3rd Session Of The Autumn Season
The CWF League November 2016 session continued with the format of 8 teams in 2 divisions. On a day of mixed weather, ranging from sunshine and showers to a heavy downpour, 15 goals were scored. 9 goals were scored in the Premier Division and 6 in the Championship Division.
There were 4 nil score draws, a 1-1 draw, 3 1-0 wins, 2 2-0 wins and 2 3-0 wins both against Vintage Celtic, who prop up the Premier Division.
Northgate Strollers lead the Premier Division by 2 points over Wigan Walkers. Both teams won 1 and drew 2 on the day. Widnes also drew 2 but lost 1 in this session of the Cheshire Walking Football Autumn League. Vintage Celtic won 1 and lost 2 and with only scoring 1 goal in the last 6 matches know exactly where the problem lies.
In the Championship Division the improving Nantwich Barony lead the table by 5 points over Neston Walking Football. Northgate Rovers are third and 1874 Northwich lie bottom with only 1 point. Both Northgate Rovers and 1874 Northwich failed to score in their respective fixtures. Nantwich Barony scored 4 of the 6 goals in the division with Neston Walking Football grabbing the other 2.
The final session of the Cheshire Walking Football Autumn League will take place on the 8th of December 2016. As always a big thanks go to the two Cheshire Walking Football League committee members, secretary George Brady, assisted by new treasurer Bill Tynan for their organisation on the day. Also thanks to the referees who officiated and helped to make the day a great success and not forgetting the Cheshire FA staff.
